Here’s the afternoon buzz: Hillary Clinton is focusing on Ohio and Texas after more losses in the race to the White House. While, Barack Obama picks up a big endorsement from the Teamsters. On the GOP side, exit polling from yesterday shows John McCain is still having trouble courting conservatives. On the crime beat, the girlfriend of the Northern Illinois University shooter says he was taking a drug cocktail. Did that have anything to do with the shooting spree? And, look in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No, it’s a lunar eclipse. Grab your afternoon snack and click on the links for all the details. Let us know what you think of the headlines.

February 20th, 2008 5:30 pm ET I think that Clinton is relying too much on Texas and Ohio. I hope that she doesn’t end up like Rudy! It seems to me that she should have been stumping all over not just there. Guess we will see soon if it pays off or not! I think eventually the conservatives will come around to being on McCain’s side. They may not like him but they don’t like Hillary or Obama any better. And I think they would rather vote for him than have one of them in office. Pot found in a college….who is surprised about that! LOL Cynthia, Covington, Ga. |

February 20th, 2008 6:01 pm ET You Americans are sure hard to figure out. You currently have a moron as president which you elected for 2 terms, now it looks like you could either elect an old guy who thinks he is a military expert because he was in a POW camp during a useless war eons ago or a younger guy who says alot about nothing, criticises other peoples ideas without saying what he would do instead and wants to be the nice guy all the time. I thought you Americans were smarter than that. |

February 20th, 2008 6:24 pm ET I hope Mrs. Clinton finds a message that will truly resonate with the voters and put the momentum back her way. I still think she’s the more capable candidate. Lilibeth |

February 20th, 2008 7:57 pm ET Re: Horse sold for record $2.8 million I think the better story is the Thoroughbred racehorse who sold for $16 million. Four-year-old The Green Monkey raced a total of three times - he retired earlier this month - his best placing being third and he earned $10,240. |

February 20th, 2008 8:00 pm ET I personally respect the service of John McCain. I don’t care how anyone votes, but I’m sure we will agree that our men and women in the military are to be honored and respected for their courage and service. That’s past , present and future troops. I thank them all. Whoever wins the election, he or she will be the President of the United States. President of every single American in this country. I wish them well. Lorie Ann, Buellton, Calif. |

February 20th, 2008 8:04 pm ET Barack is subscribing to the “Good to Great” (book by Jim Collins) theory of leadership. He will be a 21st century, a “Level 5 Leader” that recruits the “right” people, puts them in the right places and THEN decide where this country should go. We are tired of the OLD ways of Washington…where the president is expected to have all the SOLUTIONS on day one in office. I think GW Bush has proven that we can’t rely on one person to have all the answers. Barack will talk to the American people, get our opinions, use his team and make the right decisions for this nation. That is the type of leadership he is offering…not the “same old ways” of doing the “same old things”. Go, Obama, Go! |

February 20th, 2008 8:14 pm ET Has any analysis been done to determine how many Republicans cross over and vote in the Democratic primary. In Wisconsin and in VA (my state) the participation was so much lower in the Republican primary as compared to the Democratic primary. I am wondering if there is an effort (”a vast right wing conspiracy!”) to eliminate Clinton, thinking that Obama would be an easier target in the general election–lack of experience and no foreign policy experience. Maybe all of those white males and independants will turn around and vote for McCain. |

February 21st, 2008 3:45 am ET What is Barrack’s appeal? He is the epitomy of America - America raised him. Born of an Anglo-American mother and African father and reared by an Asian stepfather and maternal grandparents (in the Heartland no doubt). Then to round it out is married to an African American woman! That demonstrates that almost all of us influenced him in some sort of way and can relate to him and feel proud. Finally, we all have someone we can relate to! |

February 21st, 2008 2:19 pm ET Looks like someone (The Obama Campaign) put out information on McCain to pull the bad media coverage off Michelle Obama who until just a few days ago had never had a reason to be proud of her country. |

February 21st, 2008 3:49 pm ET If McCain feels so strong about the war then he should not be afraid to say that we need a WAR TAX to pay for it. How many people would vote for that? He just said “no new taxes”. I would like to know where he thinks he is going to keep getting the money to pay for it. |
